Our operating costs show $29,000 per year for the crew to remove yard waste. Due to our deficit and the fact that people are not using their Green Waste bins and continuing to dump yard waste at the various yard waste sites in great volumes, I’m proposing a new management plan.

Beginning as soon as possible, the crew will only be removing yard waste twice a year, during fall and spring when S.C. County offers free dump weeks. Our goal is to eliminate this process altogether and manage our common area vegetation on-site. Everyone will be responsible for cleaning the streets in front of their allotments and using the Green Bins provided by Green Waste.

During winter months when vegetation is extremely heavy from rains, one full load must be divided into two or three loads due to the vehicle’s weight restriction. Dump fees are also increasing. Steps should be taken immediately to discontinue collecting yard waste during the rainy season. The majority of people contracting with Green Waste are entitled to two Green Waste bins. The increase in the availability of Green bins is key to reducing or eliminating our cost.
Taking these actions will do three things; 1. Cut down on our costs incurred by crew time and hauling fees. 2. Force people to manage their own green waste by mulching or using their green waste bins. 3. Support sustainable practices.

The PPMC Staff requires 72 hr. notice for all table and chair set-ups at the Social Hall and deliveries of tables and chairs.  ALL deliveries of tables and chairs will be charged. If a diagram of the event does not exist in office files, the office requires a diagram of the set-up for the event at the time the arrangement is made. If an event is cancelled, please contact the office as soon as possible.

All Members,

Please pitch in and help your Park by removing the debris that covers the grates in your area during the rainy season and placing it in Green bins. Our pro-active, street cleaning really paid off during this last storm.

We just got news today (thanks, Marty!) that Ocean St. Ext. is going to be “overlaid” -I’m not sure with what kind of material they’ll be using or portion of Ocean St. Ext. that will be overlaid but I’m sure we’ll find out. Please call the office with updates and we’ll post them. And be sure to use alternate routes during this work period.
