DAM COMMITTEE MEETING

The Dam Committee is having a meeting concerning the dam at Middle Beach at 10:00 am on Sunday of Labor Day Weekend. We would like anyone who is interested in the dam to attend. If you can’t attend please send any comments you have to the dam committee (via the office) for discussion. The committee is looking for volunteers to help with the dam project. If you’d like to volunteer please contact the committee.

DISCUSSION WITH COUNTY ENVIRONMENTAL COORDINATOR

If you’re interested in serving on a committee please contact the chairperson, staff or a board member. The Picnic Grounds committee has just been formed and the mediation committee needs members. On the mediation committee you aren’t required to do intakes unless you choose, they need great minds and a secretary.

WATER PROJECT ACCOUNTING

It seems that the info regarding the water project accounting hasn’t reached everyone despite it being in the minutes and in the bulletin. The project requires two outstanding components in order to be complete. It has to be complete before a final accounting will be available. We will be installing a water tank on Shrine Way and we can accurately estimate the expected costs associated but we are also in the process of re-doing the water loan with Rabobank. The deadline for last chance lump sum payments is July 21st. We can’t complete the accounting without knowing the number of members retiring their debt and the total costs incurred from Rabobank for the restructuring. This is a top priority for this Board of Directors as it was for the past Board. I understand there is a petition circulating to speed up the process but petition or not the final info from the bank is necessary to move forward.

SHIRLEY RADDER RESIGNED AS EDITOR

Shirley has stepped down as editor of the Park Bulletin. She has graciously offered to assist to ensure a smooth transition. If anyone has articles or information for the bulletin please contact Natalie or Dawn in the office.

BUTLER/FREENOR

It was recently written by a member in the bulletin that the appeal that Mr. Butler filed after losing his lawsuit against the Park would automatically set aside the monetary award against him. I have discussed this with our Insurance Attorney and was told that information is incorrect. The attorneys for our insurance company are proceeding to collect those monies in the short term. If Mr. Butler were to win an appeal he could petition the court to have the award reversed. If Mr. Butler loses his appeal he will be liable for those legal costs as well.
